US President Donald Trump said he spoke by phone with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Axar.az reports that Trump said this in an interview with the New York Post on his plane.

Trump did not disclose the details or how many times he spoke to Putin.

However, he stressed that Vladimir Putin is concerned about the massacre on the battlefield.

“He wants people to stop dying. All these dead... Young, beautiful people. They are like your children, two million already (the number of dead - ed.) - and for no reason.”

Trump reiterated that if he had been president in 2022, this three-year war would never have happened:

“I have always had a good relationship with Putin. Biden was a disgrace to our country. A complete disgrace.”

Trump claimed that he has a concrete plan to end the war:

“I hope it happens soon. People are dying every day. This war in Ukraine is very terrible. I want to end this damn thing.”

Addressing National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, who had joined him in his office on board the plane, the US president said:

“Let’s have these meetings. They want to meet. People are dying every day. Young, handsome soldiers are dying. Young boys, like my boys… On both sides. On the battlefield.”
