The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Marko Stucin.

It was reported that in the meeting, issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovenia, as well as the regional and international security situation, were discussed.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, recalling his meeting with his counterpart Tanya Fayon during the 31st session of the OSCE Ministerial Council, emphasized the importance of such contacts in contributing to the discussion of development prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation and highlighted the necessity of advancing dialogue in this regard.
It was also noted that last year, Azerbaijan was represented at the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia at the level of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and that the forum serves as an important platform for the exchange of ideas among government officials, think tank representatives, and media representatives.
The meeting highlighted the necessity of utilizing the existing prospects for cooperation between the two countries in energy security, trade, business, and transportation-communication sectors, with particular emphasis on Azerbaijan's strategic position in the Middle Corridor, which provides the impetus for utilizing these opportunities.
The cooperation between the two countries in education and humanitarian fields was discussed, including the important contributions made by Azerbaijanis, such as the legendary Mehdi Huseynzade (Mikhailo), in the liberation of Slovenia during World War II. It was noted that these historical figures form the basis for the current connection and closeness between our nations.
The other side was thoroughly informed about the current situation and realities in the post-conflict period, large-scale restoration and reconstruction efforts in the liberated areas, and mine clearance efforts. It was emphasized that humanitarian mine clearance is one of the new directions for cooperation.
In discussing the current status of the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization and peace agenda, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that despite several advancements and agreed provisions, Armenia's ongoing territorial claims against Azerbaijan in its Constitution, as well as the country's rapid militarization driven by a spirit of revanche, pose a threat to regional peacebuilding.
The meeting also included a discussion of other matters of mutual interest.
