The transport link connecting Nakhchivan with other territories of Azerbaijan will contribute to the development of the region.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev at an official reception organized in Baku on the occasion of Iran's National Day.

He said that he believes that the planned visit of the Iranian President to Azerbaijan will open new opportunities in relations between the two countries:

"Relations between the two countries are developing. One of the main areas of cooperation is transport. The establishment of a transport link connecting Nakhchivan with other territories of Azerbaijan will greatly contribute to the development of the region. The North-South Transport Corridor and other projects are also designed for the development of the region. At the same time, Ordubad HPP is also of great importance for our region."
