Hamas has suspended the release of hostages, citing Israel's violation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Axar.az reports that an unnamed Hamas military spokesman reported this.

He noted that the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip has been postponed until further notice due to Israel's violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz also commented on the issue:

"This statement is a complete violation of the ceasefire agreement and the agreement on the release of hostages. I have ordered the army to be on the highest level of readiness for any process that may occur in Gaza and to protect the populated areas. We will not allow a return to the situation of October 7."
