Azerbaijani FM meets new Belarusian ambassador

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed Ambassador of Belarus to the country Dmitry Pinevich.

Axar.az was informed about this by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

It was noted that Dmitry Pinevich, who was appointed as the new Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan, presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The Minister congratulated the newly appointed ambassador and wished him success in his diplomatic mission.

During the meeting, issues on the current bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Belarus were discussed.

The parties discussed the prospects for the development of a strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Belarus, as well as various aspects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

The important role of high-level contacts, mutual visits, and dialogues held on international platforms in strengthening interstate relations was noted.

In this regard, it was emphasized that the visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to the liberated territories as part of his state visit to Azerbaijan on May 17 last year is a high indicator of the strategic partnership between the countries.

It was noted that the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus in various fields, including political, economic, trade, scientific, educational, cultural, tourism, and other areas, is satisfactory, and that the steps taken to expand economic and trade relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus have made a significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations.

The importance of the role of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus in the direction of cooperation in the economic, trade, and investment spheres was highlighted.

The countries closely cooperate in regional and international organizations, including the UN, the CIS, and the Non-Aligned Movement, and the importance of continuing mutual support within these organizations was noted.

Dmitry Pinevich expressed his satisfaction with starting his diplomatic mission in the country and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome. He noted that he would make efforts to further develop cooperation between the two countries.

Views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest within the framework of the meeting.
