Russia links the main prospects for trade and economic cooperation with Iran in areas such as energy, automobile and aircraft production, shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals, and transport infrastructure development.
Axar.az reports that these words were made by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk during his speech at the III Caspian Economic Forum held in Tehran.
He recalled that Iran recently joined the CIS as an observer country, this status allows it to adopt documents and participate in open meetings of the union's governing bodies.
Overchuk suggested that other countries included in the Caspian Five also analyze rapprochement with the CIS.
It should be noted that the Caspian Five includes Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan.
