The relatively low 10% base tariff imposed by the US on Turkiye could be beneficial for Turkish exporters.

Axar.az reports that Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz told CNN Turk.

According to him, the absence of high tariffs on Turkiye is good for Turkiye in terms of access to the US market:

“There were tariffs on Turkiye’s iron set, el and aluminum exports to the US. When the US imposed such tariffs on other countries, a certain balance was created, and this was in our favor,” he added.

According to Yilmaz, as an importing country, Turkiye will also benefit from the drop in raw material prices, including oil, on the world market after Trump’s announcement.
