Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with his Syrian counterpart Ahmad al-Sharaa in Istanbul.

Axar.az reports according to Turkish media, the meeting was held behind closed doors and attended by officials from both countries.

During the talks, Erdogan and Sharaa discussed bilateral relations and global developments.

President Erdogan expressed his satisfaction with the lifting of U.S. and EU sanctions on Syria.

He also emphasized that Turkiye is committed to strengthening bilateral ties across various fields and continuing a policy of neighborliness and brotherhood.

In turn, Sharaa thanked Erdogan for his support.
