Hedayatollah Farzadi, the notorious director of Tehran’s Evin Prison known for human rights abuses, fled just minutes before Israeli airstrikes—allegedly after a warning was relayed via his son, Amir Husseini Farzadi.
Axar.az, citing Fox News, reports that Israeli intelligence reportedly contacted Amir, offering to spare his father’s life if he agreed to release political prisoners. Amir passed the message through his uncle, who helped Farzadi escape. He has not been seen since.
Farzadi, sanctioned by both the U.S. and EU, is accused of torture, sexual violence, and murder of political prisoners. Before Evin, he oversaw similar abuses at other Iranian prisons. His escape highlights Israel’s targeted approach and Iran’s ongoing use of prisons for political repression, as condemned in recent international sanctions.
