The PKK terrorist organization, which Turkiye has been fighting for 41 years, will begin laying down its arms starting today.

Axar.az reports that the process will begin with a group of 30 militants surrendering their weapons.

The ceremony is expected to take place in the Dukan district of Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, and is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.

The process, which is expected to be completed within three to four months, will be overseen by Turkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and the Turkish Armed Forces. Weapons collected at designated centers will be destroyed using special methods and will not be sent to any third country. In parallel with the disarmament, the group’s storage facilities used for logistics will also be destroyed. As the process progresses, camps will be emptied as well.

Individuals with no connection to criminal activities will be allowed to return to Turkiye freely if they wish, and no charges will be filed against them.

Further details of the process are being kept confidential for security reasons.
