International investors do not believe U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats to impose secondary harsh sanctions on Russia.
Axar.az informs that this was reported in an article published by the British magazine The Economist.
The article states that, in theory, Trump could impose sanctions on Russia, which would significantly reduce Moscow’s revenue from oil exports.
However, as the magazine adds, truly serious restrictions could lead to rising commodity prices on global markets, which in turn could trigger an “inflation shock” within the U.S. itself.
It is noted that considering the White House’s reluctance to enter a full-scale trade war with China and its ongoing negotiations with India, Trump’s threats regarding sanctions are not seen as credible.
