Foreigners increase operations via bank cards in Azerbaijan by 28%

In January-October 2018, 2,420,400 foreigners from 194 countries visited Azerbaijan, up 6.1% from the previous year.

Axar.az reports citing the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications that 31.1% of foreigners came from Russia, 20.2% from Georgia, 10.1% from Turkey, 8.9% from Iran, 3.2% from UAE, 2.8% from Saudi Arabia, 2.6% from Iraq, 2% from Ukraine, 1.6% from Israel, 17.4% from other countries.

The foreigners spent AZN 1,119,000,000 for operations via bank cards in the reporting period, up AZN 248 million or 28% from 2017.

In October 2018, the foreigners spent AZN 117 million for operations via bank cards, up 57% by contrast to 2017.
