Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan warned on Sunday that continued escalation in the region was widening the scope of confrontation, stressing that the Kingdom’s security was non-negotiable.
Axar.az reports, citing Al Arabia, that Prince Faisal said: “The Kingdom’s security is not open to compromise,” adding that Gulf states would not accept attacks on their territories “under any pretext.”
The foreign minister said security in the Arabian Gulf could only be achieved through respect for the sovereignty of its states, warning that continued escalation risked further broadening the conflict.
He also stressed that stability in the Gulf was an international concern because of the region’s importance to the global economy.
