European leaders caught in strike near Poland-Ukraine border

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, advisers to German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and other European leaders were caught amid a Russian strike near the Poland-Ukraine border.

Axar.az reports, citing German media, that a Russian drone struck the Yahodyn-Dorohusk border crossing.

A service facility was also hit. An adviser to Friedrich Merz witnessed the Russian attacks firsthand.

Gunter Sautter, the Chancellor’s foreign policy and security adviser, was also traveling by train from Kyiv to Poland when the train was stopped due to drone attacks in the border area, and some passengers were evacuated.

The train also carried security advisers from other European governments, members of the German Bundestag, diplomats and academics.

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was also returning to Poland on the special train after a conference. His train was stopped due to the drone threat, but shortly afterward, authorities announced that the danger had passed.
