UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the United Nations should be reformed to reflect current geopolitical conditions rather than the realities of the past.

Axar.az reports, citing Indian media, that Guterres made the remarks while addressing the BRICS summit in India.

“Today's economic, demographic and geopolitical realities are different from the situation in 1945. And our structures should reflect this,” he said.

Guterres noted that “the countries represented at this summit are an illustration of how much realities are changing in the world. We are moving faster and faster toward a multipolar world.”
