German nurse suspected of murdering over 80 patients

Niels Hoegel, a German nurse, is believed to have been responsible for killing 84 people, local media reported Monday, citing recently revealed investigation results.

Axar.az reports that, In February 2015, Hoegel was sentenced to life in prison on charges of killing two patients. Meanwhile, the convict himself claimed that he had killed over 80 patients in the intensive care units of hospitals in the cities of Delmenhorst and Oldenburg by giving them a lethal dose of medication. However, no evidence was found, and an investigation was subsequently launched.

"The horrific deeds of Niels H. go beyond any imagination," Johann Kuehme, the head of Oldenburg police told the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper after presenting the results of the investigation.

The murderer confessed that he would bring patients to the brink of death before attempting to revive them in order to look like a savior in front of his colleagues.
