A citizen of Azerbaijan, resident of Mingechevir Alakbarov Anar Vagif oglu was detained as a suspect in the crime of betrayal to state during the ongoing investigation at the State Security Service.

State Security Service's Public Relations Department told to Axar.az that, in march 2016 Anar Alakbarov was secretly involved in exchange of material interests by members of foreign intelligence services in abroad.

Anar Alakbarov was prosecuted under Article 274 (treason) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and was detained on the court.

Investigative and operational measures are under way.
