Azerbaijan to supply Russia with canned goods

Azerbaijani products are very tasty and high quality.

From mid-March 2016 Azerbaijan will start the supply of products into one of the largest cities in Russia - St.

Petersburg, the chairman of the Committee for Enterprise Development and the Consumer Market of St.

Petersburg Elgiz Kachaev said at the "Business FM Peresburg",

According to him, the Russian delegation, which is currently on a visit to Baku, discusses the range of products that will be delivered to St. Petersburg.

"These are canned products, which are produced in Azerbaijan: aubergine pate, compote, pomegranate juice, tea. At the same time we are discussing the prospects for the supply of quince and other agricultural products. The delegation has already visited "Azersun Holding", the leading company of Azerbaijan, and tomorrow we plan to get acquainted with the activities of "Gilan Holding". The delegation includes representatives from X5 Retail Group, as well as transport companies, the St. Petersburg state institution "Center for Quality Control of goods" and others," he said.

According to Kachaev, Azerbaijani products are very tasty and high quality.

"Our experts say that these products will be very popular due to their quality and good taste. Now representatives of the X5 Retail Group are in talks about the year-round supply," he added.

In turn, according to him, Azerbaijani entrepreneurs are also interested to purchase products in St. Petersburg in rubles, in order to minimize currency risks.
