Armenian military personnel have received specialised training in India to operate the Akash air-defence system.

Axar.az reports, citing Indian Defence Times, the training focused on operating, maintaining, and effectively deploying the indigenous surface-to-air missile system.

According to report, the personnel are expected to use this expertise during field exercises and operational activities in Armenia. The training supports Armenia’s integration of Akash into its wider air-defence network.

It should be noted that Armenia has begun acquiring Pinaka multiple-launch rocket systems, ATAGS howitzers, Akash air defense systems and Swathi radars from India.
