27 years… Gubadli, a historical region of Azerbaijan, is reviving.
Axar.az reports that Gubadli region was occupied on August 31, 1993, as a result of a large-scale attack by the Armenian army. On October 25, 2020, the city of Gubadli, along with several villages in the region, was liberated from the Armenian occupiers.
The administrative division of the district includes 1 city, 93 villages, 31 administrative-territorial districts. There are 115 large and medium-sized enterprises, 11 preschool institutions, 56 secondary schools, 1 technical vocational school, 4 hospitals and medical institutions, 111 cultural centres in its territory.
Gubadli region is bordered by Lachin in the north, Zangilan in the south, Khojavend and Jabrayil regions in the east, and Armenia in the west.
Bazarchay (Bargushad), Hakari, Kichik Hakari, Meydan gorge rivers and many springs are the main water sources of the region.
