Trump-Xi summit set for May 14-15 in Beijing

The White House announced Wednesday that the long-awaited summit between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will take place in Beijing on May 14 and 15.

Axar.az reports, citing CNBC, this scheduled meeting follows a roughly six-week postponement from the original late-March window, a delay President Trump previously attributed to the ongoing conflict in Iran.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that the diplomatic engagement will extend into later this year, when the President and First Lady Melania Trump are set to host President Xi and Madame Peng Liyuan for a reciprocal visit in Washington, D.C.
