Azerbaijani President’s Representative on Climate Issues Mukhtar Babayev met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in London.

Axar.az reports that Babayev wrote about the meeting on his X social media account.

"Pleased to meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the margins of London Climate Action Week 2026," he said.

The meeting included discussions on the implementation of the outcomes of COP29 and preparations for COP31.

"Also exchanged views on accelerating methane mitigation, scaling climate finance, and strengthening international cooperation to turn climate commitments into tangible results," he added.
