When an Azerbaijani athlete was detained in Russia, we were informed and a request was sent.

Axar.az reports that the Minister of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Vahe Ghazarian, said this in his statement to journalists.

The Armenian minister commented on the detention and subsequent release of Azerbaijani athlete Kamil Zeynalli in Russia at the request of Iravan:

"The procedure is like this, when a person wanted by Armenia is detained, we are sent a request and given information. We also officially announce whether we have searched for that person or not. When the Azerbaijani athlete was detained, Russia sent us a request, and we responded on the same day. There are also other people we searched for who were arrested and then released. Russia must also respond to this."
