Negotiations will be held in Almaty between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan. However, the peace process has not yet produced tangible results.
Axar.az reports that this was said by Russian political scientist Sergey Markedonov.
He spoke about the importance of the next round of negotiations.
"Can we expect significant progress from the meeting in Almaty? There is no clear answer to this question. It is unlikely that the ministers will sign any peace agreement. It's just not in their power. However, the preparation of specific proposals for a peace agreement can help bring the positions of the parties closer together. However, I foresee possible inconsistencies. Official Yerevan has already proposed to register mutual obligations with Azerbaijan in writing. However, official Baku thinks that considering that Armenia is responsible for the conflict, it should show a softer attitude," said Markedonov.
