Rafael Agayev entered the Guinness Book of Records

The well-known karate player Rafael Agayev entered the Guinness Book of Records.

Axar.az reports that the "Black Diamond" of karate has been added to the book as the athlete with the most world champions in individual competitions.

It should be noted that he was the world champion in individual karate (Kumite) 5 times in 2006-2016.

Agayev won two (2006 and 2008), -75 kg (2010 and 2016) and one open championship (2008) in karate. He also won a total of nine world championship medals, including two silver and two bronze.

Rafael Agayev won his first match at the 2015 European Games in the kumite category of karate at the weight class of 75 kilograms against Ukrainian Ilya Nikulin with a score of 3:0. In the second match, the athlete lost to Turkish Erman Eltemura with a score of 3:5. In the last meeting of the group, Rafael Agayev, who defeated Latvian Ruslan Sadygova with a score of 3:1, was able to advance to the semi-finals. He defeated the German athlete Noah Bitchin in the semi-finals with a score of 1:0 and held the final match with the Italian athlete Luigi Busa. He distinguished himself in the last seconds of the match and won the title of champion of the first European Games and won the gold medal.
