I think we can conclude the work on the text of the peace agreement, at least on its main principles, in a few months.

Axar.az reports that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said this while accepting the credentials of the newly appointed ambassador of Canada, Kevin Hamilton.

The head of state noted that the plan of the mediators during the occupation was to reach an agreement on the main principles called the Madrid principles:

"They had to be initialed and then the text had to be drawn up. We believe that this can be an option - to reach an agreement on the main principles, initial them and then work on the text."

President Ilham Aliyev noted that this will happen if they amend the constitution.
