President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited Astana on July 3 to participate in the Summit of the SCO at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev as the Chairman of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Axar.az reports that an honor guard was lined up at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport of Astana in honor of the head of state.

The President of Azerbaijan was welcomed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev and other officials.

It should be noted that this is the second participation of President Ilham Aliyev in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit. Before that, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his capacity as the chairman of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the head of our state participated in the summit of the organization held on September 16, 2022 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
