Representatives of the election headquarters of Saeed Jalili, the candidate for the presidency of Iran and the opponent of Masoud Pezeshkian in the second round of the elections, called those who voted for Pezeshkian donkeys.
Axar.az reports that information and videos about this have been published on local social media channels.
"In Marand, 76 thousand of the 95 thousand votes were given to Masud Pezeshkian, I declare openly, even if it is an insult: Donkeys voted for Pezeshkian," said the representative of Jalili.
After the distribution of the video, a protest against Jalili and the representatives of his election headquarters began in Marand.
The detainees were released after being interrogated and receiving a written warning not to hold an action.
