On June 28, 2024, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel Israel Katz.

Axar.az reports that According to the information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the parties discussed the current situation and prospects of cooperation between the two countries, international and regional issues, and the situation around Gaza.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed the importance of achieving a ceasefire in Gaza in a short period of time, not targeting civilians on both sides, and resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict peacefully.

During the telephone conversation, the necessary works and plans to be carried out within the framework of Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Asian Cooperation and Confidence Building Measures (CCSM) covering the years 2024-2026 were reviewed.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov gave detailed information to the other side about the current situation and realities in the region during the post-conflict period, large-scale restoration and construction works in the liberated territories, issues of combating the mine threat, as well as the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process.

It was emphasized that within the framework of our country's chairmanship of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), an additional opportunity for cooperation between the two countries has arisen.

During the meeting, opinions were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
