Donald Trump, a candidate for the U.S. presidency, will not say that he wants Ukraine to win in the confrontation with Russia's aggression.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by columnist David French in his article for the New York Times.
He recalled that during the last debate with Democrat Harris, the Republican — despite numerous questions — refused to say that he wants Ukraine to win the war against Russia.
At the same time, Trump emphasized ending the war rather than winning it.
He notes that there is no scenario in which a Russian victory would align with U.S. interests:
"Because a Russian victory would not only expand the Kremlin's sphere of influence, but it would also be a disaster for human rights and pose a threat to the disappearance of Ukrainian national identity, leading to a shift in the global balance of power."
