Azerbaijan strongly condemns and strongly rejects the statement of the Deputy Administrator of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Isobel Coleman against Azerbaijan at the Independence Day event at the Embassy of Armenia in the USA.

Axar.az reports that this was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

It was noted that the extremely irresponsible statements of the deputy administrator are aimed at distorting the facts related to the anti-terrorist measures that ended the illegal presence of the Armenian armed forces in the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan's measures were fully in line with international law, including international humanitarian law, and never targeted the civilian population.

It was reported that instead of condemning the non-fulfillment of the obligations to withdraw the Armenian armed forces from our territories, which led to anti-terrorist measures, the military-political provocations by the Armenian leadership, including the irresponsible congratulatory message addressed by the Prime Minister of Armenia to the so-called regime supported by this country on September 2 , the claims made by the officials of the US International Development Agency against Azerbaijan are nothing but encouragement of separatism and revanchist forces inside Armenia.

It was also emphasized that the short-sighted policy of the US International Development Agency, which does not show the same enthusiasm for Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs, whose number is 10 times greater in the region, and its ignorance of the current realities, is harmful and will not bring any results for the sake of peace and security in the region.
