The second solar eclipse of this year will occur on October 2.
Axar.az reports according to information provided by the Astrophysics Department of Baku State University , this eclipse is an annular solar eclipse.
When the Moon is farther from the Earth, its angular size is smaller than that of the Sun, so during the eclipse, the Moon does not completely cover the Sun’s surface, resulting in a bright ring around the Moon. This is why the eclipse that occurs at this time is called an annular solar eclipse.
The eclipse event will begin on October 2 at 19:42:47 Baku time and will end on October 3 at 01:46:47. The maximum of the eclipse will be at 22:44:51 on October 2. The event will last for 6 hours and 4 minutes. The total eclipse will begin on October 2 at 20:50:24 and will end on October 3 at 00:39:04. The total eclipse process will last for 3 hours, 48 minutes, and 40 seconds.
The annular solar eclipse will be observed in southern Chile and Argentina. Countries that will see at least a partial eclipse include southern North America, most of South America, the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, and Antarctica. The eclipse will not be visible from Azerbaijan.
