Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's urgent visit to Brussels is related to the EU leadership's desire to learn the details of the Yerevan-Baku talks held in Abu Dhabi with the mediation of the United States.
Axar.az informs that the Hraparak newspaper reported this, citing sources.
"Pashinyan was summoned to Brussels to explain why Washington's mediation yielded such quick results, including the agreement on the Zangezur corridor, since the EU's efforts in this direction had not been able to advance the process for a long time. The visit came as a surprise even to many members of the Civil Contract Party - only a few were aware of it. Pashinyan, in meetings with European Council President Costa, European Commission President Leyen, and French President Macron, pledged to complete the program to push Russia out of the region. Press releases express gratitude to Pashinyan for the existence of anti-Russian agreements, in particular, proposals for cooperation in the fight against foreign information manipulation and interference, as well as steps taken to prevent sanctions evasion," the source said.
