Emergency ministry warns public about severe weather risks

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has appealed to the population regarding the expected weather conditions.

Axar.az was informed about this by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It was reported that according to the National Hydrometeorological Service, the weather in the country is expected to be unstable in the coming days, with strong winds in some areas, intense torrential rain in some places, short-term floods in some mountain rivers, and lightning strikes.

"During strong winds, it is recommended to stay away from light-structured and temporary structures, buildings, and billboards, and not to stand under electric poles and wires, or tall trees. Considering the difficulties caused by strong winds in extinguishing fires, fire safety rules should be observed especially strictly in windy weather.

Also, to protect yourself from floods and landslides caused by torrential rains, it is recommended to stay away from flood-prone areas and immediately climb to a nearby height when faced with this danger.

At the same time, to protect yourself from lightning-related dangers, you should disconnect electrical devices from the network, do not talk on the phone (landline, mobile, payphone, etc.), do not approach power lines, lightning conductors, lightning rods, and antennas while outdoors, do not take shelter under tall trees and choose a relatively low place for this purpose, and if you are in a car, stop moving, roll up the windows and wait for the lightning to end.
