On November 21, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the family of the National Hero of Azerbaijan, Panjali Teymurov, in Astara.
Axar.az reports that during the meeting, the memory of Panjali Teymurov, who was martyred in the April battles, was commemorated with respect, and his services to the Motherland, high professionalism, bravery, and courage as a soldier were discussed.
Later, Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva visited the house-museum created to perpetuate the memory of the martyr.
It should be noted that the legendary intelligence officer Panjali Nurmagomed oglu Teymurov, nicknamed "Goja", a member of the Special Forces, was born on March 24, 1981, in the village of Azarud, Astara region. After military service, Panjali, who continued to serve in the ranks of the Special Forces since its establishment in 1999, stood honorably guarding the Motherland for 17 years. Gizir Panjali Teymurov rose to the desired peak - the position of martyrdom during the April battles of 2016.
Panjali Teymurov, who was awarded many medals and awards during his lifetime for his exemplary service, was posthumously awarded the "For the Motherland" medal in 2016. By the Decree signed by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, on November 7, 2025, Panjali Teymurov was awarded the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan.
