UAVs proved key in the 2020 Karabakh war - CNN

The use of UAVs in wars became relevant after the 2020 Karabakh war. The 44-day war was a turning point in the use of UAVs.

Axar.az reports that it is mentioned in an article published on CNN.

The author states that during the war, Azerbaijani troops carried out a deceptive air strike from old agricultural aircraft.

"When the Armenian army tried to shoot down the old aircraft, mistaking them for UAVs, the Azerbaijani side destroyed the anti-aircraft systems by launching artillery strikes at the source of the attack. This allowed Baku to control the airspace," the publication wrote.
