The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, met with a delegation led by the Minister of State for Defense of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Lord Vernon Coaker, who is on an official visit to our country.

Welcoming the guests, the Minister of Defense noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Great Britain in the military field are of particular importance and that this plays a positive role in the development of the armies of both sides.
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov emphasized the importance of the establishment of the Military Attaché Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in our country last year.
Expressing gratitude for the cordial attitude and hospitality shown, Lord Vernon Coaker noted that the United Kingdom is interested in further expanding military relations with our country. He especially emphasized the effectiveness of mutual visits and meetings held in various formats in terms of the exchange of experience.
The meeting, which was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Mr. Elin Suleymanov, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to our country, Mr. Fergus Auld, was a detailed exchange of views on the current state and development prospects of cooperation between our countries in the military, military-technical, and military education fields.
As part of the visit, the guests also attended the next graduation ceremony of the "Instructor Training" course, which was held with the participation of young officers of the "Officer Specialty Training" course.
At the ceremony held at the General Headquarters of the Azerbaijani Army, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Director General, Mr. Agil Gurbanov, expressed his gratitude to the delegation of the United Kingdom for their support in conducting the course.
Finally, Mr. Agil Gurbanov, the Rector of the National Defense University, Major General Gunduz Abdulov, representatives of the United Kingdom, and ambassadors presented certificates to graduates who completed the course.
