As previously reported, the cargo ships Natra and Zircon, operated by Azerbaijani crews, came under a drone attack. As a result, five Azerbaijani citizens were killed and three others were injured. The wounded have been hospitalized in the Russian city of Yeysk.

Axar.az reports that several Telegram channels claim the attack was carried out by the Ukrainian military. According to these reports, the vessels were struck near the Russian-occupied ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk in the Sea of Azov.

It has not been disclosed what cargo the ships had transported or intended to load at the occupied Ukrainian ports.

The commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi, known by the call sign “Madyar,” confirmed that vessels had been targeted in the Sea of Azov.
