US Embassy in Baku to close for Juneteenth

The U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan will be closed on Friday, June 19.

Axar.az reports that this statement was shared on the embassy’s official social media accounts.

"The U.S. Embassy in Baku will be closed on Friday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, a U.S. federal holiday" the post reads.

The embassy will resume its operations on June 22.

Juneteenth, officially known as Juneteenth National Independence Day, is a federal holiday in the United States, observed annually on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery.
