Turkic Union of Composers established in Baku

The Turkic Union of Composers (TUC) has been established as part of the 1st Congress of Composers of the Turkic World.

Axar.az reports that the union was founded by representatives of leading music institutions from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Hungary.

The establishment of the Turkic Union of Composers was formalized through the signing of the Baku Declaration. This lays the foundation for permanent professional cooperation among composers, musicologists, performers, conservatories, music academies and creative unions of the Turkic countries.

The 1st Congress of Composers of the Turkic World is being held on September 18–20, 2026, as part of the 18th Uzeyir Hajibeyli International Music Festival.

The project is being implemented by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and the Foundation for Turkic Culture and Heritage, in cooperation with the ICESCO Baku Regional Office, the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijan National Conservatory.
