Today is International Children's Day.
Axar.az informs that, on June 1, 1950, at the International Women's Conference organized by the UN General Assembly, it was decided to dedicate June 1 to the protection of children. Since then, that day has gone down in history as International Children's Day.
The UN has adopted a convention on the rights of the child, and Azerbaijan joined the convention after gaining independence. As in all democracies, special attention is paid to the protection of children's rights in Azerbaijan.
All conditions have been created in our country for children to grow up as healthy, comprehensive and worthy of the Motherland. Of course, children's rights are one of the most important and integral parts of human rights. Children are our future and the future of the country is in their hands.
Today, large-scale measures are being taken by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which puts the ideas of National Leader Heydar Aliyev into practice. First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva pays special attention to children in need of special care, deprived of parental care.
Ensuring the rights of children in our country gives impetus to a series of events to reveal their talents. At the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, special attention is paid to children from refugee and IDP families, as well as children with disabilities. Measures are being taken to integrate and integrate children with disabilities into society.
