VRT broadcast an interview from Aghdam

A report on the liberated Aghdam was broadcast on the website of the Belgian TV channel VRT (Flemish Television and Radio).

Axar.az reports that the leading report begins with a visit to Aghdam called "Hiroshima of the Caucasus", during which the city was completely destroyed, houses were looted, and the only surviving mosque was used to determine the direction.

The report also covers the views of residents who returned to their native lands for the first time after 30 years of occupation. Speaking about the city's pre-occupation life, locals say the area is now unrecognizable. People who say that Armenians have expelled and killed civilians also say that it will not be easy to live with them again. However, residents who want to return to their native lands say that they want to live comfortably in their ancestral homes after the construction work in Aghdam.

The footage also shows how difficult it is to clear mines in Aghdam and return civilians. An ANAMA staff member provides information on the process of clearing areas of mines and explosives. He says that incomplete maps of mined areas make the cleanup even more difficult.

The report also mentions the Military Loot Park, where Armenian military equipment was looted during the 44-day war. The teacher, who became an IDP in the First Karabakh War, says that bringing students to this park is important for the younger generation to master their history and own it. The report also includes footage of Armenians burning houses and damaging nature after leaving the territories after the tripartite statement. In the end, it was noted that Azerbaijan has begun construction work in the liberated territories and is currently implementing projects for the construction of roads, rehabilitation of settlements and infrastructure. Among these projects, Fuzuli International Airport has attracted special attention.
