The information published in the Azerbaijani media regarding the opening of fire by Armenian border guards on the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan is being investigated.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in the statement of the military police of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

"The written orders of the higher command clearly define the circumstances in which a military serviceman can or is obliged to decide to open fire after assessing the situation. According to preliminary information, such a situation in this area on February 12 (the need to open fire - ed.) "If this situation is confirmed, those who violate the order will be brought to justice," it was emphasized in the information.

It should be noted that on February 12 at around 1:37 p.m., on the part of the Azerbaijan-Armenia conditional state border passing through the Zangilan district, the Armenian Armed Forces fired at the position of the State Border Service border troops located in the Kollugishlaq village of Zangilan district, located in the direction of the Nerkin-And settlement of Gafan district. opened.

As a result of the provocation, soldier Parviz Agakishi oghlu Khalilzade, a military employee of the State Border Service, was injured. The serviceman was evacuated by helicopter to a specialized medical facility.

The incident, including the moment of opening fire from the opposite side, was recorded by video surveillance cameras.
