The composition of the U.S. delegation that will participate in the COP29 summit to be held in Azerbaijan from November 11 to 22 has been announc

Axar.az reports that this information was shared on the official website of the U.S. Department of State.

It was noted that the delegation, which includes senior officials from more than 20 departments, agencies, and organizations, will be led by John Podesta, the U.S. President's senior advisor on international climate policy. The officials will visit Baku to emphasize the U.S.'s leadership position in combating the climate crisis and to work toward achieving strong outcomes.

The delegation includes Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, Assistant to the President and National Climate Advisor Ali Zaidi, Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality Brenda Mallory, Deputy Secretary of Energy David Turk, Acting Deputy Secretary of the Interior Laura Daniel-Davis, Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Bonnie Jenkins, among others.

Additionally, many other U.S. officials working on climate change, armed conflict, finance, food security, gender issues, global health, trade and investment, and youth-related initiatives will also travel to Baku.
