Russia investigates AZAL crash incident

Russia's Investigative Committee has appointed an expert to assess the actions of Air Defense Forces leadership, air traffic control system, and air traffic controllers after the flight of Azerbaijan Airlines JSC crashed near Aktau.

Axar.az reports that the Investigative Committee of Russia has released information about this.

It was reported that the investigation examines all possible versions of the causes of the tragedy.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Interstate Aviation Committee are investigating the "black boxes" of the plane that crashed in Aktau. Together with the experts of the Interstate Aviation Committee, the information received from the aircraft recorders included in the Brazilian Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention Center is being studied.

It should be noted that on December 25, the AZAL plane carrying out the Baku-Grozny flight was shot down by Russian air defense systems in the sky of Grozny and was seriously damaged. The plane headed for Kazakhstan crashed near the Aktau airport because it was not allowed to land. As a result of the accident, 38 of the 67 people on board died, and 29 survived.
