Today, June 15, Azerbaijan celebrates National Salvation Day.

Axar.az reports that exactly 32 years ago, great leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power and saved the Azerbaijani people, state, and nation from disintegration.

In his speech at the session of the Milli Majlis held on June 15, 1993, great leader Heydar Aliyev announced the future development strategy of Azerbaijani statehood, and today it has entered the history of Azerbaijan as National Salvation Day, and Azerbaijani statehood has been saved from the threat of extinction.

Heydar Aliyev, who returned to power for the second time at the request of the Azerbaijani people, was elected Chairman of the Supreme Soviet on that day. Thus, the tension and conflict that had been going on for many years subsided, and the country was saved from the threat of civil war and disintegration. The philosophy of national salvation ensures the existence of Azerbaijan in the broad sense of the word, its greatest historical achievement, its independence.

If gaining independence was a prerequisite, the second important issue was to preserve and develop sovereignty, and this became a reality thanks to the will of the national leader. He created the concept of National Azerbaijani statehood. Despite all the obstacles, socio-political stability was restored in the country in the shortest possible time.

On June 20, 1993, Heydar Aliyev held a briefing for local and foreign journalists to convey the realities of Azerbaijan to the world community, and on June 21, he met with diplomats from several countries. The policy pursued in this area brought the republic out of the information blockade. The opinion formed in the world about Azerbaijan changed in a positive direction. It was in such a complex political situation that Heydar Aliyev's great potential became the guarantor of Azerbaijan's independence. The personality of the national leader, his unique political management skills, determination and charisma put an end to the political crisis and Azerbaijan's integration into the world community began.

In 1997, deputies of the Milli Majlis proposed to include June 15 in the calendar as the National Salvation Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the parliament approved this proposal. Since then, Heydar Aliyev's return to power has been celebrated as National Salvation Day.

The policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has restored Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.

Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, who duly fulfilled his father's will, the brave Azerbaijani Army liberated our eternal and eternal lands occupied by the Armenian armed forces.

Thus, the Azerbaijani state, under the leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, single-handedly implemented the UN resolutions on the battlefield. Thus, the Azerbaijani lands, which the enemy had occupied for nearly 30 years, were liberated from slavery.
