Bodies of Azerbaijanis killed in Russia to be repatriated

The bodies of the Azerbaijanis killed by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) in Yekaterinburg will be repatriated tomorrow via Ural Airlines.

Axar.az informs the Azerbaijani consulate is currently working on the matter.

On the morning of June 27, Russia’s FSB carried out a raid on homes of Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg. Two Azerbaijanis were killed during the operation, and several others were detained. The victims were brothers of well-known journalist Seyfaddin Huseynli.

On June 28, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the FSB’s actions against Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg.

In addition, Russia’s chargé d’affaires was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, where a strong protest was expressed over the incident.
