The Armenian government has agreed to transfer control of the Zangezur corridor, which is intended to connect the main part of Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan, to the United States.

Axar.az reports that the Spanish publication “Periodista Digital” published information about this, citing the contents of a “secret memorandum” between Yerevan and the United States.

According to the information, the document envisages the creation of a 42-kilometer transport corridor that will connect Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan, passing through the territory of the Zangezur region of Armenia:

“This route has been temporarily named the 'Trump Bridge'. The transport corridor will be managed by a private American company. Yerevan will receive only 30% of the income from the use of the route.”

The publication claimed that the memorandum has already been approved by Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States:

“The memorandum also envisages the deployment of significant US forces on the territory of Armenia. However, we are not talking about a regular army, but about a private military company consisting of about 1,000 fighters. These forces will ensure the security of the corridor.”
