US approves $8.6bn in arms sales to Middle East allies

The US State Department said on Friday it has approved military sales worth more than $8.6 billion to Middle Eastern allies including Israel, Qatar, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.

Axar.az informs, citing Reuters, the State Department announcements on Friday came as the U.S. and Israel’s war against Iran marked nine weeks since its start and more than three weeks since a fragile ceasefire came into effect.

President Trump’s decision fast-tracks defense capabilities to the region during a period of significant instability.
