Hidayat Heydarov reaches European judo final

Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov has reached the final of the European Judo Championships among seniors, held in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Axar.az informs that the Olympic champion, competing in the 73 kg weight category, defeated Turkiye’s Bilal Ciloglu in the semifinal to secure a place in the decisive match.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented by 15 judokas—9 men and 6 women—at the prestigious tournament, which runs until April 19. Earlier, Ahmad Yusifov (60 kg) and Turan Bayramov (66 kg) both won bronze medals.
